How can I short a stock?

With Cornèrtrader CFDs can be used to go short on single stocks.

Cash stocks themselves cannot be shorted, but you can take a bear position on stocks by shorting the CFD.

A Contract for Difference (CFD) is a financial contract between a client and a CFD provider where the difference between the opening and closing prices of a position is settled by cash payment when the position is closed.

CFDs can be traded from the Trade ticket in the Trading tab.

The trading platform displays all CFDs that are available for trading: the list can be accessed via Instrument Explorer in the Trading tab.

Important: CFDs are a margin product. The trading platform states what are the trading conditions and margin requirements for each particular instrument. They can be found in the Trading Conditions section of the Account tab.
